Communication based Train Control (CBTC) is the most used signaling system for urban applications, capable to control driverless trains at high frequencies as 60 seconds, as well as assist drivers for safety and operation functions as starting, accelerating, braking, stopping, opening and closing doors. This training is aimed at providing an overview of CBTC structure and functions, how it is operated and some possible future evolutions.
